The Pikes Peak Chapter Of USA Dance (PPUSADance) is the local, Colorado Springs area chapter of USA Dance, a national non-profit organization that promotes ballroom dancing. PPUSADance... -- Sponsors ballroom dances and dance instruction events (see the schedule on the home page). -- Leads or participates in other events that promotes ballroom dancing, e.g., Dancing With Colorado's Stars. -- Is not affiliated with any particular dance studio or instructor. Our intention is to be neutral with respect to studios and instructors to the maximum extent feasible. -- Is a volunteer-based organization. Our board of directors are all volunteers. We also depend on volunteers for a variety of other functions, for example, setting up and taking down tables, chairs and decorations and preparing food for the dances. Those who volunteer in a major way to help at particular at dances get admitted to those dances without cost. To volunteer, send us an email. Become a member of PPUSADance by becoming a member of USA Dance at the national level. There are no additional local chapter dues for PPUSA Dance. The entry level, Social Dancer membership of USA Dance members costs $25 per year. Benefits of that membership include: - A discount on admission to most PPUSADances (that more than offsets that cost of membership for people attend all or almost all of our dances each year). - A subscription to American Dancer magazine, which contains articles both about Ballroom Dancing in general and about USA Dance competitions and chapter activities around the country. - Get to participate in members-only dances and events.
