Dance Instruction |
The following are dance studios and dance instructors that teach ballroom and other related dance styles in the Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak region. Which dances should be called "Ballroom Dances" is sometimes a matter of debate. However, instructors who consider themselves to be Ballroom Dance instructors usually teach at least most of the following dances, which may be categorized as follows: 1. RYTHM Dances: Rumba, Cha-Cha, Samba, Mambo, Salsa, Bolero, East Coast Swing, Jive and West Coast Swing 2. LATIN Dances: Rumba, Cha-cha, Samba, Mambo, Arigentine Tango 3. SMOOTH Dances: Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Night Club Two Step Many of these dances include an American style and an International style. Country Dancing usually consists of the following dances: Country Cha-Cha, Country Waltz, Texas Two-step, Night Club Two Step, Country Swing, and East Coast Swing. Other partner Dance Styles include: Lindy Hop, and Polka. Please contact these studios and instructors about which dances they teach.
